Margaret Ann "Peggy" Trast (Meenahan)

Age 80, of Mounds View, MN, died peacefully in the loving care of Our Lady of Peace Hospice on April 27, 2021, following a brief illness.  She is preceded in death by husband, Leonard Trast; parents, Mildred and Thomas; and sister, Barbara Aasheim.  Peggy is survived by her children, Catherine Trast of Shoreview, Darren Trast of White Bear Lake, Amy (Joshua) Pelant of Shakopee; and grandchildren, Caleb Trast and Millie Green. She will be missed deeply by her dear cousin, Flora O’Hagan. Peggy is loved by several cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Born July 11, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MN, Peggy was raised in the small Iron Range town of Marble, MN. She graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, MN in 1958 and attended Itasca Junior College. After moving to St. Paul, she and Leonard were married in 1965 and eventually moved to Lino Lakes, MN where they raised their family. Peggy was a hockey, tennis, baseball, softball and band mom, always cheering from the stands, supporting in all ambitions. She loved everything crafts, gardening, baking and cooking; she developed a passion for quilting and created beautiful works of art we will cherish forever. She had a love of Pomeranians & Persian cats - especially her Sparkle, ever her companion while sewing or watching her British comedies and mysteries. She always enjoyed a good piece of cake or dark chocolate. We’ll miss her sense of humor; many will know a Peg-story or two. Treasured above all, her strength and support, reminding us of our Irish moxie, to get through anything thrown our way.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Friday, May 7 at ST. JOSEPH OF THE LAKES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 171 Elm St. Lino Lakes.  Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME – LINO LAKES, 7050 Lake Dr (Co Hwy 23). Private interment Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, MN at a later date.
