Marjorie was a devout wife to Niel, her husband of 45 years. Together they raised five children. Her kids were the world to her. Her faith was also a central part of her life. She worshipped at Shepherd Lutheran Church while the children were growing up. She then later attended House of Praise Lutheran Church in Lino Lakes and North Heights Lutheran Church in Arden Hills. While she focused her efforts on raising her children, as they grew older she took some jobs working in food service and doing small cleaning jobs. She then later built successful home businesses selling Avon and Spirulina. Through these businesses and her active church life, Marjorie also built a strong network of friends in her Circle Pines community where she lived for 50 years. The Tetens door was always open and her beloved dogs Zipper and Jasper greeted the frequent visitors. There was always a pot of coffee on while the gentle hum of Christian music played in the background. Marjorie especially loved when one of her five children, 10 grandchildren, or 18 great-grandchildren came to visit.
