Maureen Murphy, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away August 5, 2023, after a hard battle with cancer and just shy of her 64th birthday and 43rd wedding anniversary. Maureen is survived by her husband Kevin, her two children, three grandchildren, and three brothers. She joins her mother, father and older sister among friends and family in Heaven.
Maureen was a devoted wife, sister, friend, and mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the brisk air and change of leaves in the fall. She never took life too seriously and made a song or dance to everything. Maureen fought hard through life’s challenges even when they weren’t her own. She had a passion for the outdoors and for traveling, could never sit still for long, and was always willing to try anything. She was a spiritual woman and involved in many church activities and groups. Maureen was very involved and present with her family. She was married to her sweetheart for almost 43 years; they were blessed to have two beautiful daughters, who were the most important part of her life. She poured her heart into her three grandchildren and wanted so badly to watch them grow up. She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew her.
“I was given the gift of a beautiful life and now I have to give it back. This is hard. But I am a lucky woman to have lived of life of adventure, love, and laughter for which I am grateful. I first got sick in February 2023 when a serious virus was followed by an aggressive form of Lymphoma. I decided to fight hard but remain joyful for having had a full life rather than be sad or scared to die. I had so much life to live but am at peace now. I take my mortal leave of this world that provided me the beauty of fall leaves, a landscape for daily walks, endless outdoor activities, laughter, countless friendships, and the love of my life who gave me two wonderful girls and three grandchildren.”
