Melissa “Missy” Joy Peterson was born on March 29, 1979, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was residing in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, where she passed away unexpectedly in her home on July 7, 2024, after a very sudden decline in her health. Missy was only 45 years of age.
She is survived by her husband, Sean McKeever, and their rescue dog, Charlie; her mother, Debra Peterson; her brother, Mike (Allie) Peterson; her nieces whom she adored, Mya and Morgan Peterson; and many treasured cousins, aunts, uncles, and amazing friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Marcus Peterson; grandparents, Raymond & Beverly Gajeski and Kenneth & Carol Peterson.
Missy graduated from Roseville High School in 1997. She then moved to Beaverton, Oregon where she lived and began her first career as a mechanic/service writer. Missy was not afraid to get her hands dirty and had a strong personality; she had to in an industry mostly for men. Missy then moved to Richmond, Virginia where she pursued her next career step in the medical field by becoming an X-Ray Technician. She also continued her education by earning a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Missy loved Virginia and met so many amazing friends and made memories that will last a lifetime. In Virginia she also met the love of her life, Sean McKeever, and they were married in Outer Banks, North Carolina on September 21, 2012. Sean and Missy proceeded to move to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida in the fall of 2019 because Missy loved the ocean. She loved to travel with her husband and her family; her happy place was anywhere she could put her toes in the water or relax by a pool. She also loved animals, which took her to many zoos and aquariums. Some of her favorite animals being dolphins, koala bears, panda bears, whales, and the most favorite being sea turtles. If you went to visit Missy, she would always take her guests to the Clearwater Aquarium, which held a special place in her heart. Missy had an unforgettable laugh and smile. She was sarcastic and witty. Her heart was huge, she loved big, and she will be missed beyond measure.

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 21 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2131 Fairview Avenue North, Roseville, MN 55113. Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. A celebration will follow at the B-Dale Club, 2100 Dale Street North, Roseville, MN 55113.
