Michael Hinrichs

March 7, 1958 — September 11, 2018

Roseville

Michael Hinrichs, 60, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, around 2:15pm.  He was born to John and Patricia (Groeller) Hinrichs on March 7, 1958, at 6:24am.  Over the past 8 and half years, Michael has lived at 2646 Virginia Avenue, in Roseville, Minnesota, with Northeast Residence.  During that time, I think one thing everyone can agree upon is Michael’s smile was never ending, he preferred to have a neat/different baseball cap on from his collection, and just wanted to go out and have a fun time.   Michael always spoke about future happenings and what staff members were coming onto the next shift.  Michael loved his staff and would show this by most evenings when they tucked in him for the night, staff would say, “I love ya,” Michael would then say, “I know you do.”  These dedicated staff names are Wade Hartmann, Carla Munson, Olakunle David, Lookman Shodeinde, Miaway Queeglay, Kevin Heroff, and Mark Ales, to name a few.  In addition, to the staff, Michael has many friends, with his roommate, Justin, and his “girlfriends,” Cami, Jennifer, Shannon, and Sheri, to name some.  Michael went to “school” and attended Northeast Contemporary Services Inc. for many years.  Brian Larson, worked alongside him for around 25 years during that time.   Michael enjoyed many things.  He was an avid sports fan rooting for the Minnesota Twins and Vikings and attending local high school softball and basketball games.  Michael attended the State Fair regularly over the last 8 years, with one of his favorite staff members, Carla.  He loved to go to the Maplewood Mall as well, to ride the carousel.  Michael went to the mall for a ride so often, they got to know him well, so they let him ride the carousel for free. Michael looked forward to Saturdays, at least twice a month, when his father, John, would come pick him up and they would go visit his Uncle, Billy, eat out at House of Wong, and get a bear claw, at Cub Foods.  Michael took his first plane ride and trip in 2017, going to Colorado.  During the trip, he went to Garden of the Gods by Colorado Springs, a train ride in the mountains, Estes Park up in the Rocky Mountains, out to eat, and shopping.  Michael enjoyed this trip, so much, he shared his experience with everyone for a good 6 months after and was asking when he could go on another trip. While at home, Michael enjoyed his coffee and oatmeal every morning, sitting on the back deck looking around/enjoying nice weather, sitting in his man cave with wood statue carvings from his father, listening to music (KC & Sunshine Band and the Beatles), and snuggling up to his stuffed animal collection with his current favorite ones on his bed.  Michael will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  His wonderful spirit, joy, and interests will live on through all of us.
