Michael H. Muehlbauer, age 84, of Circle Pines, MN, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024.
Born on July 1, 1939, in Pittsburgh, PA, Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was marked by love, loyalty, and a deep sense of duty.
Mike was married to his beloved wife, Norma, for over 57 years. Together, they built a life centered around their family, which was Mike's greatest joy and purpose.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Ruth.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; sons, Michael J. (Amy) Muehlbauer and Robert Muehlbauer; and daughter, Michelle (Rich) Burr. Mike was a loving grandfather "Pap/Pappy" to Morgan Muehlbauer, Ainsley Muehlbauer, Jayden Burr, and Jamisen Burr, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A proud veteran, Mike served his country honorably in the United States Army Security Agency. His commitment to his country was also reflected in his collection of bald eagles, symbols of his patriotism and pride.
Mike found fulfillment in his career as a Brewmaster, a role he cherished in breweries across Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and St. Paul. From Duquesne Brewing Company to Schmidt’s Brewery and Schmidt and Minnesota Brewing Company, Mike's talent for brewing forged deep bonds with his coworkers, who became his extended family. At home, a keg of beer was always on tap, and Mike welcomed friends and family alike to share a drink with him, extending his hospitality with warmth and laughter.
Family was at the center of Mike's life, closely followed by his passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Watching football this season will be a little quieter for the Steelers Fans of Minnesota! “Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go!”
Michael H. Muehlbauer will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his love of family, his dedication to country, and his passion for brewing. May he rest in peace, his spirit enduring in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 17 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home- Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Drive (County Hwy 23). Visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM. Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Mike's memory.
