Michael D. Strandquist

Age 80, of Maplewood​Went home to be with the Lord on September 25, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mike was born June 29, 1937 in St. Paul, MN.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Helen; and his brother, Roger.   He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; sons, David (Tee) and Eric (Donna); daughter, Diane (David) Sell; 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Tara, Adam, Lynsi , Sophia, Jonathan, Michael and Lukas ; 4 great grandchildren, Hailey, Alexa, Violet and Hazel.   Michael worked in the trades doing plaster, taping and drywall for over 40 years.  His loves included reading, writing, woodturning and gardening but his greatest love was his wife, Carol, of almost 60 years.    A special heartfelt thanks goes out to all the day and nighttime Angels that worked at Lyngblomsten Care Center.  They gave Mike the love and attention he needed during such a vulnerable time in his life.   Memorial service 11:00 AM Saturday, September 30 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1465 N. Victoria St., St. Paul.  Private interment Roselawn Cemetery.  Visitation 10-11 AM Saturday at the church.   Memorials in Mike’s name can be given to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.   Mike’s faith in God gave him great strength in this life and now carries him home into the arms of Jesus.
