Monica P. Filipovich

Age 92, of Maplewood was called by our LORD and SAVIOR on July 14th at home with family near after a short illness.  Beloved mother of Kathleen Faschingbauer, Barbara Heine, Mary Rekuski, Dr. John Filipovich and Tina (Scott) Rawlings. Also survived by sister Giovanna Mackie, brother Justin (Shari) Conedera, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  She is preceded in death by husband John Filipovich, parents Coriolano and Maria Conedera, brother John Conedera, two infant siblings, and many relatives.  Monica was born in Italy and immigrated to Calumet, Michigan in 1929. She married in 1945 and has lived in Maplewood for the past 63 years. She retired from Sears. She was a woman of strong Catholic faith and devotion. Monica was quiet, loving, wise, charitable, strong and kind. She will be deeply missed.  Suggested memorials to Missionaries of Charity.  Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 19 at The Church of St. Jerome, 380 E. Roselawn Ave., Maplewood with a visitation one hour prior.  Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
