Monte J. Husnik

Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, and Son Age 58, of St. Paul, died peacefully surrounded by family, on March 28, 2018, after a long and brave battle with pancreatic cancer.  Monte was an exceptionally gentle, kind, and trustworthy person. He lived a simple and quiet life, and treated everyone with dignity and respect. He was happiest at home, but he also enjoyed trips up north to the family cabin and to Grand Marais.  Monte invented RollerFeeder, an ingenious and effective squirrel-proof birdfeeder, and he was happy to hear about how it helped people and brought a little humor and joy into their lives. His greatest joy, though, was in his children, Peter and Cara; he loved them so much, and was deeply proud of them both. We all miss him greatly. But our love for him will always remain in our hearts. ​Preceded in death by father, Frank; brother, Mark.  Survived by wife, Kristine Krafts; children, Peter and Cara; mother, Shirley; siblings, Matt, Mike (Sandra), Maureen (Danny) Montpetit, Mary Husnik-Colvin, Martin (Denise), Marla Husnik (Steve Self); beloved dog, Charly; many nieces and nephews. ​Funeral service 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 3 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-LINO LAKES, 7050 Lake Dr (Cty Hwy 23).  Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Visitation 4-7 PM Monday and from 10-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. ​In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
