Age 96 of Maplewood, MN; died January 3, 2025.
Norman was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Beverly; son, Ward; and wife of 72 years, Bernice.
Survived by daughter, Orreen (Gary) Nottom; son, Rodney (Diane) Sessing; daughter in-law, Margie Sessing; daughter, Mary (Walter) Lehne; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Norm’s elementary education was in a one room country school. He graduated from Blackduck High School. He served in the U. S. Army in ordinance, stationed in Japan, and graduated from Dunwoody Industrial Institute in 1948 specializing in drafting and estimating. Through the mentoring program Norm received his license as an architect in 1968. Norm established Sessing Architects, Inc. in 1968 and retired in 2004.
Norman was a very giving man of his time to volunteer in the church and parochial schools. Norm and Bernice loved family and friends; they enjoyed them all and both would do anything to help them out. Norm did extensive work on our family trees.
Service will be at Cross Lutheran Church, 1945 Prosperity Rd, Maplewood, MN 55109 on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1:00 pm, with lunch served after service
Memorials preferred to Dunwoody College of Technology, the American Lung Association, or donor’s choice.
