Patricia Ann Trost

October 30, 1957 — October 15, 2024

Age 66, passed away from a six-year battle with metastatic bladder cancer on October 15, 2024 with her daughter Jenna and her sister Peggy by her side.

Preceded in death by husband, Joseph Trost; father and mother Roger and Jeanette Piatt; mother-in-law, Patricia V. Trost; and brother-in-law, Keith Neadeau Sr.

Survived by daughter, Jenna; siblings, Pam (John) Eckman, Pennie Neadeau, Roger Jr. (Rachel) Piatt, Peggy (Steve) Marchiafava; father-in-law, Gerald Trost; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Cranston, Chris (Butch) Nuhfer, Jerry Jr. (Angie) Trost; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Patti loved to play softball, she played on every team, every league, and on every night that she could. She traded in playing for watching her daughter Jenna play. Every tournament weekend she came fully prepared! A full cooler packed with enough food to feed the whole team if she needed too, canopies to keep the team in the shade, a large Jenna Sign, dressed head to toe in Cougar gear, and her own score book to record Jenna’s strikeouts. She loved to help with Jenna’s sports. She was an “assistant” on many of the teams Jenna played for. You could count on her to keep the book at every game, be the loudest fan, and always have her black backpack with all the first-aid things you could ever need. She kept that competitive nature throughout her life playing volleyball at family functions, golfing during her women’s league or with her husband Joe or playing competitive pickle ball at the relaxed YMCA courts. She still used that voice yelling at the tv for all the Vikings games and for the last two years watching her new obsession Caitlin Clark play basketball. She watched her for the last two years playing at Iowa and even had Jenna get the WNBA subscription so she could watch all the Indiana Fever games and cheer on her favorite player. Patti brought her up in every conversation she could.

She loved to spend time with her family. She took care of her dad for years, going over to his house every day to make sure he had everything he needed even when he was in assisted living and memory care housing. Patti, her husband Joe, and her daughter Jenna made a lot of memories together. They would go to the Grand Casino in Hinkley, which was a vacation for Jenna too swimming and playing in the arcade while they took turns gambling, trips to Duluth and Taylors falls. She loved to be a part of her nieces and nephews’ lives and then her great nieces and nephews’ lives. She was exceptionally close with her youngest sister Peggy and her husband Steve, and their children Amanda (Eric), Stephanie (Adam), and Tony (Jessie) and all their littles. Patti and Peggy lived one mile away from each other for twenty-nine years. Trish (her great aunt nickname) was always looking forward to the invite she would get to go over to spend time with Peggy and the kids. She loved her God Daughter (Amanda), the one she watched come into this world and the one she shared a middle name with (Stephanie), and her birthday buddy (Tony) so much and loved the role she played in their lives. Peggy and Patti always showed up for each other, when Patti’s husband Joe passed away in March 2024 Peggy took the time to take Patti to her appointments. When she was nearing the end-of-life Peggy moved Patti into her house to help Jenna take care of her. They would do anything for each other, a sisterly bond that Patti cherished so close and appreciated so much, not only sisters but friends for life.

Patti fought a long hard battle with Metastatic bladder cancer. Her journey was a long six years. Through it all she never lost her sense of humor. Patti used to make her voice deep and show her muscles and tell Jenna that she had the strength of ten thousand women, she truly did with how hard she fought her battle with cancer and how long she battled in the end.

Because someone we love is in heaven there will always be a little bit of heaven with us. We love you Patti/Trish/Pie, rest in peace.
