Paul V. Sorg, age 86, passed away March 15, 2025.
Paul was originally from St Paul, and lived in North St Paul before moving to Prior Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma & Vincent Sorg; son, James Sorg; nephew, Herbie Wilkinson; brother-in-law, Dan Cermak; and granddaughter, Britnay Grant.
Survived by daughter, Amy (Don) Williams; granddaughter, Kat (Stewart) Stahnke; grandsons, Alex Mott and Mac Williams-Grant; sisters, Marti Cermak and Liane (Larry) Jensen; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
Paul would go up to the North Shore to Grand Marais whenever he could. He enjoyed fishing and would talk about the fishing trips to Green Lake with grandpa and other male family members, and also his last fishing excursion with his assisted living facility.
Paul used to walk over a mile 2 or 3 times a week to Mick's Corner Cafe when he lived in North St. Paul, where he was well known by the staff and regulars. The staff would bring him home most of the time when the cafe closed.
Once he moved to his assisted living facility, he continued to thrive there. He loved where he lived, the staff, and residents. He even had a special lady friend. He knew everyone, and he would make jokes as he did his daily laps of the building. Everyone there knew how much he loved ice cream. During those two years he got to really connect with his sister, Marti. She would take him out, and they both especially loved going to Dairy Queen for ice cream and just talking.
A visitation to celebrate Paul's life will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday, March 29 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home - Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd B.
