Raymond John Weber

August 8, 1959 — January 15, 2023

Raymond Weber, aged 63, passed away suddenly on January 15, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Ray leaves behind his wife, Brenda, his loving partner and best friend for more than 45 years. He also leaves behind the two centers of his universe, his daughter, Rebecca (Cory Johnson) and son, Eric (Erika) Weber. As well as his mom, Mary Weber; sisters, Linda (Joe) Haag, Laura (Michael) Morosok; and brother, Mike (Tara); and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his dad, Richard Weber.

Ray graduated from Murray High school in St. Paul in 1977 and from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul in 2003. He worked for 35 years in the logistics field and made many lifelong friends along the way.

Ray was passionate about camping, fishing, hunting, cooking, biking, golfing and entertaining. He was happiest surrounded by friends and family serving good food, drinks and conversation. His latest passion was pickleball, and he and Brenda made new friends on the court.

Ray and Brenda enjoyed many adventures traveling in their motorhome across the country. One of his happy places was in the woods with friends and family playing lumberjack. The campfire will not be the same without his presence. He also loved nothing better than sitting in a boat catching walleye with his son and friends.

Ray was a member of a traveling Corvette club and enjoyed cruising many miles of backroads with that group. His loss will be felt on the golf course where he played with a league and his mom (she is going to meet him in heaven on the first tee).

Ray never met a home project that he wouldn’t tackle. His craftsmanship is evident in his home, as well as his daughter’s and son’s, his niece’s, neighbor’s and friend’s homes. He had so many neighbors that he counted among his friends. Ray’s gregarious spirit, booming voice, ready laugh and large presence were loved. His absence will be felt by many.

A celebration of life for Ray will be held from 1:30 - 4:30 PM Sunday, April 30, at the Hugo American Legion Post 620, 5383 140th Street North, Hugo, MN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s name to either the Department of Veterans Affairs in honor of his dad or Sharing and Caring Hands in honor of his mom.
