Robert Ernest Walker

Robert Ernest Walker, 81, passed away on August 29, 2024, in Fridley, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marian; and son, Dion Walker.

Robert is survived by his sons, Rolando (Sonya) Walker and Damian (Andrea) Walker; his grandchildren who brought him so much joy, Kyla, Gavin, Aurelia, Aaliyah, and Brodie; and siblings who cherished having him as a brother, Cheryl Thompson, Tim Walker Sr., Cindy Crandall, Chuck Walker, Joe Yanta, Lonnie Gay, Jon Silvers, and their spouses.

Robert dedicated 40-plus years to the Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council #82 as a commercial painter. He left a vibrant mark on numerous buildings and projects. 

He cherished his daily calls with his best friend, Jerry as well as his mornings spent at the Rusty Cow with his friend, Ike and friends. Known for his outspoken and political nature, Robert was never shy about sharing his thoughts, bringing both warmth and vigor to any conversation. Robert also enjoyed watching football with Damian, Aurelia, and Brodie - particularly the live games that Damian brought him to - as well as attending NASCAR races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with his son, Rolando. Robert had a profound love for classic and modern cars, notably 1950 Mercs and modern-day Chargers and Challengers. Robert was also a collector as shown by his extensive (and impressive) collection of Elvis and Dale Earnhardt Sr. memorabilia.

Robert's thoughtful, giving nature and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorial service 12 PM Friday, September 27, at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home- Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Drive (County Hwy 23). Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 12 PM. The burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park following the service.
