Age 66, of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Scott is preceded in death by his parents Don and Doris Hansen; and his nephew Paul D. Quinn.Scott was born on November 15,1954 in Milwaukee to Don and Doris (Ceel) Hansen. He spent his childhood on their family farm in Rubicon Wisconsin before moving to Ham Lake, MN as a teenager. He was a proud 1972 graduate of Grace High School, now Totino-Grace, where he played baseball and football, was an active member of the theater program and contributed to the school newspaper. Scott was united in marriage to Michele Margarit on July 29,1978 in Richfield, MN. Scott will be remembered by most for his ability to make people laugh. After being coaxed on stage at a nightclub in Minneapolis in the mid-70’s, he found a home there, with a mic in his hand. He built a long and successful career as a standup comedian that included touring clubs, colleges and theaters across the Midwest. He also opened and ran several locations of Scott Hansen’s Comedy Gallery in the Twin Cities. His comedy clubs made the Twin Cities laugh throughout the 80’s and 90’s, attracting many nationally known headliners, and launching the careers of dozens of aspiring comedic performers, writers and actors. Despite his high profile as a comedian, those closest to Scott will always remember him as a kind, generous and loving man whose family came first. He stayed close to home while many peers were drawn to the national spotlight to be present for his family. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren, always delivering fun new gadgets or inventing creative games that would fill a mini-van, house or backyard with laughter and joy. Scott is survived by his wife, Michele Hansen of Richfield; children, Nick (Kristina) Hansen of New Brighton, Annemarie (Rodrigo) Vega of Rochester and Andrew (Andrea) Hansen of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Caden Wall, Taylor, Gillian and Alexis Hansen, Raymundo Vega and Baby Hansen arriving in February of 2022; siblings Faith (Buddy) Chris, Joy and Tom (Leisa), many nieces, nephews and siblings-in-law, and the thousands of people he has made laugh over the course of his life.
