Shannon K. Seevers

December 8, 1970 — November 23, 2019

Mahtomedi

Shannon Kay Seevers was born December 8, 1970 in Owatonna, MN to Frank and Ardyce (Pohl) Larsen. She passed away suddenly on November 23, 2019, at the age of 48 in her home in Mahtomedi, Minnesota.

Shannon moved to Mankato when she was 5. She was a student at Jefferson Elementary/Middle School in Mankato.  She then attended Mankato West High School and graduated in 1989. She was involved in swim team, softball, and basketball.

After High School she attended the University of South Dakota, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. She graduated from college in 1994. She taught elementary school in Las Vegas from 1994-1996, and in Dallas from 1996-1998.

It was in college where she met her future husband, Tim Seevers, and they were wed July 25th, 1998, in Cook, Minnesota at Trinity Lutheran.

To this union was born Marin on July 25, 2004, and Will on May 15, 2008.

Shannon was an amazing and dedicated mother. She loved to assist in Will and Marin's schools, sports, and church activities. Shannon spent countless hours at the basketball court, swimming pool, track, softball field, football field, baseball field, and hockey rink cheering on Marin and Will as well as every one of their teammates.

Spending time with her family was her first priority and she treasured the time spent with Tim, Marin, and Will. Shannon loved nothing more than spending time with her family at her favorite place, "The Island" on Elbow Lake sitting at the fire, boating, fishing, and picking blueberries. Holidays telling stories and laughing around the fire ring at the "Lucky 11" was one of her favorite ways to enjoy her time with family and friends.

In her short time with us both personally and at work, Shannon became connected with anyone with whom she crossed paths. Her combination of a caring heart and contagious energy filled every room. In her 48 years of life, the relationships that she made with relatives, friends, co-workers, and complete strangers is immeasurable.

Shannon's love of her puppies was always apparent. It was not uncommon to see her walking her dogs or sitting at the playing field with them. They brought her much joy.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, John and Ruby Geiselman.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Tim; children, Marin and Will; parents, Frank and Ardy Larsen of Mankato, MN; sister, Pam (Todd) Marney of Austin, TX; brother, Doug Larsen of Savage, MN; mother and father-in-law, Gary and Thelma Seevers of Seward, NE; sister-in-law, Pam (Allen) Werner of Deshler, NE; brother-in-law, Paul Seevers of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law, Phil (Danyel) Seevers of York, NE; and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
