Sharon L. Patten

A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with Jesus on March 8, 2022 after a long battle with heart, lung, and kidney disease.  She was preceded in death by her son, David M. Patten, and daughter, Teri L. Feeney.  She is survived by her children, Dr. Christi Patten, Bill (Cindi) Patten, and Laura Meyers; five grandchildren, Cali Patten, Mike Feeney, Tristan Preiss, Camryn Patten and Andrew Meyers; and three godchildren, Mary, Andy and David.  She was very proud of her five children and their accomplishments and she absolutely adored her grandchildren. She loved being a stay at home mom with her children. One of her greatest joys was dancing. When it became necessary to work outside the home she sought a career in nursing paying for college with various jobs including as dance instructor at Arthur Murray. After becoming a registered nurse, she worked at a hospital, as a nurse in a nursing pool, and nights as a weekend RN supervisor in a nursing home. She continued her education in health care by becoming a nursing instructor at St Paul Community College until she retired. She often said it was her dream job. She loved her job and her students.  Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, March 18 at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 380 E. Little Canada Rd., Little Canada.  Private interment Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation 10 -11 AM Friday at the church.  Memorials in lieu of flowers can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of choice.
