Stephen R. Gagnelius

Age 75, of White Bear Township, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024.

Preceded in death by parents, Dick & Betty (Reich) Gagnelius; uncles, Roger Gagnelius & Joe (Rosie) Reich; and in-laws, Bob & Dolores Baltes.

Survived by wife of 48 years, Nancy; daughters, Jennifer (Gary) Miller, Lisa (Travis) Renstrom, Ashley Gagnelius; grandchildren, Katherine, Natalie, Hailey, Cody, Lillie; and siblings, Ronnie Gagnelius, Bruce (Annette) Gagnelius, and Susie Gagnelius (Steve Lavine).

Steve was a graduate of St. Bernard’s High School and St. Paul Vo-Tech. He met Nancy, the love of his life, while working at Burger Chef. He worked for Ramsey County as a mechanic for 44 years and made many longtime friends. He was also owner of Angelo’s Pizza on White Bear Ave. in St. Paul for 39 years. As owner of Angelo’s, his employees and customers were treated like family.

He enjoyed playing softball and boot hockey. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Steve was known as a hard worker and a man of integrity. He took pride in providing for his family and his family always came first. Time spent with his family was cherished, especially time spent at the cabin in Pine City.

Steve has had many health struggles since 2016. It was often said that Steve had nine lives which was fitting since Steve and Nancy had been involved with numerous feline rescues. He died cancer free and will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

Funeral service 11:00 am Wednesday, June 5 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville), 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd. B. Visitation at the funeral home from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 4 and 10:00 - 11:00 am Wednesday, June 5. 

Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
