Sue, age 61 of Oakdale, passed away August 26, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome “Jerry” Gerlach; brother-in-law, Jerry Brinda; and father-in-law, Rick Prudhomme.
Sue is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Michel “Mike” and their son, Matthew “Matt” and his fiancé, Madalyn Blees; her mother, Shirley (Haakinson) Gerlach; siblings, Kathy Brinda, Mary (Gordy) Mroz, and John (Ming) Gerlach; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Prudhomme; and sister-in-law, Erin Conrad (Craig Peterson). Sue leaves behind nieces and nephews, Maggie, John, Joe, Robert, Sarah, Jim, Jessica, Rebecca, Isabel, Lindsey, Pat, Lauren, Ryan; 12 great nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Sue’s education began with attending elementary school at Maternity of Mary, followed by St. Bernard’s High School, where she enjoyed being a member of the dance line. She finished her formal education with a degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas. Sue was a dedicated, loyal employee beginning with her very first job at Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chips. Her professional career included employment with Target, Knox Lumber, Catholic Charities, Washington County, and Metro Transit. Sue was often described by her employers as being detail oriented, thorough, concise, and hard working, and often spent long hours at her desk ensuring that everything was perfect down to the last penny! She was well liked by her colleagues and formed many friendships over the years.
Sue will be best remembered for her cheerful disposition and infectious laughter. She was an extremely generous person, sometimes to a fault, and was lovingly referred to as “Auntie Presents.” She had the knack for always listening to and paying attention to people in effort to acquire the perfect gift for each and every person she loved! Her generosity and compassion were limitless. Sue loved to bake and often shared giant assortments of her delicious Christmas treats and cookies with friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors new and old.
Above all, Sue was an incredible, loving wife and mother.
A Memorial Service for Sue will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 28 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home - Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Road B. Visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 AM Saturday until time of service.
Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the B-Dale Club, 2100 N. Dale St. in Roseville.
