Dr. Terence James Coyne, 74, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 10th, 2017, surrounded by his family, after a one-year battle with cancer. Terry was born May 20th, 1943, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Terence and Margaret Coyne. He moved to Cincinnati at the age of 4. Terry was accepted into The Archbishop’s Choir School, and then attended St. Xavier High School and Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, where he also did his internship and residency. Later in life, he earned a law degree and a masters degree in tax law at William Mitchell College of Law, taking night courses without interrupting his medical practice. Terry was a popular pediatrician with Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine for 43 years, where he was remembered fondly by the countless families he served, when he retired at the end of 2016. He was about to start his second pediatric career at the Braden Clinic in Ave Maria, Florida, when his cancer appeared. He was a long-time parishioner at the Church of Saint Agnes in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he sang Sunday Vespers for over 30 years.Preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; father, Terence; brothers,Timothy and Thomas, and newborn siblings, John Michael, Matthew, Mary Ellen, and Unnamed. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen; children: Christopher, Adam (Kristin), Courtney (Paul Nowatzki), Nicholas (Crystal), Shannon (Peter) Horton, Alexander (Anna), and Victoria; and grandchildren Nathan, Jacob, Rebecca, Daniel, Margaret, Catherine, and Evelyn Coyne; Victor, Henry, and Leo Nowatzki; Reece Coyne; E.J., Aaron, and Judah Horton; John and Beatrix Coyne; and Lorraine Coyne. Funeral leaving from MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. at Cty. Rd. B. at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 15. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday at THE CHURCH OF ST. AGNES, 548 Lafond Ave, St. Paul. Visitation 4-8 PM Tuesday and 10-10:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Private interment to follow at a later date.
