Tom was born October 14, 1936 and died April 22, 2024 at the age of 87.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie & Pauline (Janicki) Novotny; and his sister & brother-in-law, Gloria (Novotny) & Edmund Fuller.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Menshek) Novotny; his 3 sons, Mark (Billie Kathryn Frogner), Michael (Laura Kadlac) & Matthew (Amy Kostel) Novotny; 7 grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Thomas, Ethan & Rylie Novotny and Carley (Degneau) & Alex Merrill, Jacob Degneau; and his great-grandson, Andrew James "A.J." Merrill.
Tom grew up in St. Paul's Frogtown. He graduated from St. Agnes H.S. and the U of M in Mpls. He taught in the Roseville School District over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and played softball and volleyball until he was 86.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 30 at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church, 171 Elm St., Lino Lakes. Visitation at the church from 9:30-10:30 AM Tuesday.
Interment St. Joseph's Church Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staffs of Lyngblomsten in Lino Lakes, Lyngblomsten in St. Paul & St. Croix Hospice for their kindness and caring.
In lieu of flowers, Tom's favorite charity was The Salvation Army.
