Age 71, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on August 14, 2022 concluding a six-year “long goodbye” after his Dementia diagnosis in 2016.
Tom is preceded in death by parents Richard and Mary Drow, and sister Judy Drow.
Tom will be deeply missed by his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Christine Drow; his three daughters Stephanie, Jessica (Brent) Robinson, Lauren and his three grandchildren Madeline, Jake and Ethan Robinson; as well as his siblings Bob, Kathy (Gary) Simac, John (Diane), Jim, David (Linda), in-laws Anita (Bill) Suhaysik, Kurt (Liz) Schroeder, Carl (Bella) Schroeder, and Cathy Schroeder; his nieces and nephews; and countless friends, including best friend Steve Slatten, as well as wonderful neighbors and coworkers.
Born in Milwaukee WI, Tom started his career as a mechanic, eventually retiring after dedicating 31 years of service as a heavy-duty truck mechanic at Boyer Trucks in Minneapolis. Tom had a passion for fishing, old cars, music, dad jokes, vacations with family in Eagle River, WI and he also possessed a unique talent to strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone he met!
He cherished being “Pop Pop” to his grandkids and was their number one fan at hockey, basketball, and lacrosse games as well as band concerts, piano recitals, and school events.
An open house Celebration of Life will be held Thursday August 25, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm downstairs at Trapper’s Bar and Grill, 6810 Lake Drive, Lino Lakes MN to honor Tom’s life.
A memorial scholarship is being created in Tom’s memory for a student pursuing a career in the trades.
