Thorstein "Thor" Haug passed away on October 24, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, Minnesota. 

Thor was born in Dairyland, Wisconsin on July 19, 1931; son of Torstein and Marie Haug, the youngest of 8 children. He attended carpenter school at Cozy Corner, Wisconsin. Thor graduated from Central High School in Superior, Wisconsin. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. 

After returning home, Thor attended University of Wisconsin at Superior and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. Thor taught elementary school in Superior for several years, after which he worked with his brother Clarence as a carpenter in St. Paul, Minnesota. He also worked as a Fuller Brush salesman in Minneapolis, Minnesota and subsequently delivered for Saint Marie Gopher News. 

Thor enjoyed upholstery and taught it at Minnesota Fabrics. He later bought their upholstery shop and renamed it Thor-Son Upholstery and Carpet. After retiring ,he worked for Methodist Hospital Park Nicollet as a phlebotomist.

Thor was a member of Lutheran Church of the Master in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota and North Heights Lutheran Church in Roseville, Minnesota. 

He is survived by his wife, Karen, of 50 years; son, Marcus Glenn (Danielle) Haug; granddaughters, Monica Michelle (Ryan) LeVahn and Hannah Marie Haug; grandson, Samuel Ty Haug; sister, Ethel Pederson, of Indiana; brother-in-law, Allen Anderson of Belgrade, MN; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 2 at LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE MASTER, 1200 69th Avenue N., Brooklyn Center. Visitation at the church from 12-1 PM Saturday. Private interment at Mount Hope Cemetery in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin.
