Vera L. Schwagel

Age 99 of St. Paul went to be with Jesus on November 7, 2018, at the Heritage Apartments of Lyngblomsten in St. Paul, Minnesota.   She was born on December 21, 1918, on a farm near Watertown, South Dakota, the daughter of Adolph and Louise (nee Kroening) Wallner.  She moved with her family to St. Paul where she married Lavern “Vern” Schwagel.  After Vera retired from Brown & Bigelow, she was very active in volunteering at Central Lutheran Grade School, American Cancer Society, and American Heart Association.  She also enjoyed her garden!   In addition to her husband Vern, Vera was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; and a godchild, Roger Wegner.   Vera is survived by 3 cousins, many nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.   Funeral service 11:00 AM Monday, November 12 at ST. STEPHANUS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 739 Lafond Ave., St. Paul.  Interment Elmhurst Cemetery.  Visitation from 10-11 AM Monday at the church.​​
