Wes Barnes, age 88, of Roseville, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Born on October 22, 1935 in Fargo, North Dakota to Sarah and Clifford Barnes and was the younger brother to Curt. All preceded him in death.

After graduating from Fargo High School, Wes served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his time in the service, Wes moved to the Twin Cities where he met Cynthia Hansen. They were married from 1964 - 1977 where they had a family and made their home in White Bear Lake, MN.

Wes had two long careers. First, with the United States Postal Service and subsequently with the American Red Cross. He loved to stay active and was an enthusiastic golf and tennis player. Wes cherished the time he spent with his partner and friend of over 40 years, Mary Ann Blechinger, traveling and being devoted and passionate University of Minnesota Gopher Hockey and MN Vikings fans. He loved keeping up to date with his son's and grandchildren's lives and activities.

Left to mourn his passing are Mary Ann Blechinger; his three sons, Charlie (Mariu), Steven (Michelle), and Carl; three grandchildren, Vanessa, Cameron and Noah, loving relatives and friends of the family.

A Celebration of Life for Wes will be held from 4-7 PM Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home - Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd B. Private family interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family will designate memorial contributions to the charities, American Red Cross and the Alzheimer's Association.
