Bill returned to the loving arms of God on May 26, 2023 after a sudden illness, when he died peacefully, surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by parents, William "Bill" and Dorothy; sister, Marion; and son-in-law, Ken Smith.
Survived by the love of his life and devoted wife of almost 60 years, Carolyn; daughters, Diane (Jay) Andrews, and Denice Smith; and beloved grandchildren, Jaymes, Annabelle, Roselyn, Isaiah and Isaac.
Bill will be remembered for his strong, quiet faith in Jesus Christ our Savior. He was a loving and steadfast husband to Carolyn. As a dad he was a silly, gentle teacher who gave his daughters unconditional love. He was a proud grandpa who took joy in his grandchildren.
Ever since he was a young boy fishing in the trout stream behind his home in New Jersey, building his own boat with his dad, he has loved fishing. It was a dream come true when he bought his own fishing boat and spent blissful hours fishing with Carolyn in northern Minnesota.
Thank you for leading the way. You will be sorely missed.
